Jason M. Gibson, Ed.D

Jason M. Gibson, Ed.D., is an accomplished educator, thought
leader, and author with a distinguished career dedicated to
advancing academic excellence and student leadership. A native
of Jackson, Mississippi, Dr. Gibson is a proud alumnus of
Callaway High School and began his academic journey with a
full basketball scholarship at Holmes Community College,
where he earned an Associate of Arts in Social Sciences. He
continued his educational trajectory at Jackson State
University, completing a Bachelor of Science in Secondary
Education (Social Studies) and a master’s degree in history,
with a specialization in Civil Rights History.

Dr. Gibson currently serves as Chair of the Department of
History at Tougaloo College, where he provides strategic
leadership in curriculum development, faculty mentorship, and
institutional partnerships, driving initiatives that prepare
students for leadership roles in diverse fields. His scholarly
expertise has positioned him as a respected guest lecturer in
African American Studies at premier institutions including The
University of Alabama, the University of Nevada Las Vegas,
Jackson State University, and Millsaps College.

Beyond academia, Dr. Gibson is a nationally sought-after
consultant and keynote speaker, engaging audiences across the
United States on critical topics such as first-generation student
success, fraternity and sorority leadership, and strategies for
student empowerment. His dynamic presence and influence
have earned him numerous accolades, including recognition as
one of Mississippi’s Top 50 Men in Business and the prestigious

2024 Professor of the Year award from the Mississippi
Humanities Council.

In January 2024, Dr. Gibson expanded his impact with the
release of his debut book, Pray Plan Execute: When Believers
Level Up, which explores the intersections of faith, leadership,
and personal achievement. Recently completing his doctorate
in Higher Education Administration at the University of
Southern Mississippi, Dr. Gibson remains steadfast in his
commitment to driving institutional excellence, championing
educational equity, and cultivating the next generation of
transformative leaders.

Overview:
Given the viable partnerships that the Fraternity and presenter has established with various campuses over the last two years, the presenter has the knowledge on how to create and nurture those partnerships for the betterment of the experience of the collegiate members on those campuses. The presenter provides a real example of the success of the efforts that leadership development has dedicated to this process of assisting students with the transition from college to career. The presenter also brings 10 years of experience to the attendees, providing for a wealth of information on the topic of transition from college to career.
