Overview
Time will tell if millennials can effectively channel this optimism to change the
recalcitrant political institutions. Millennials volunteer at a higher rate than other
generations and use social media in a political capacity. Ultimately millennials
want to be a part of thriving communities and a functioning public sector. This
interactive panel will foster conversations around the influence of social media
and the ability to build a platform on social media that directly increases political
and civic engagement.
Once it reaches social media it is marked as history. Social Media has the ability to mobilize, defame, and elevate brands. The stories told on social media have the power to bring about cultural shift.

Taylor D. McCain is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Media and Journalism in May 2016. Ms. McCain is currently the Account Executive for Rap Snacks, Inc. In addition, she has a wealth of experience in higher education.
